A Birthday and a Graduation
Whenever gift certificates are given, I am always excited to hear from the recipients. I had been anxiously waiting to hear from this family, (they were given a gift certificate as a baby gift) and with Jack was turning one, mom Katie contacted me to schedule their session. I love photographing milestones and a first birthday is always a special time to capture and remember for forever. On the way to their house I actually missed where I was supposed to turn, but stumbled across a little spot that would be perfect for their session. The light was so pretty, and luckily Katie and dad Nishant were game. Katie mentioned they had lots of pictures of Jack, but were excited for some images with all three of them. We focused primarily on their little family, but I couldn't resist some shots of their handsome boy. I'm such a sucker for big, beautiful, dark brown eyes. It was such a special time for this family with lots to celebrate. In addition to Jack turning one, both Katie and Nishant just finished medical school. The evening of our session was the actual day of Nishant's graduation. Everyone was all dressed up and looking great for the festivities. Little Jack was adorable in his pink shorts. Nishant's parents were in town for the celebration as well, so they were able to be in some shots, and it was obvious just how much they all love their little Jack. It was a bit of a whirlwind session with such a big night ahead of them, but with the perfect place to shoot and a beautiful family, it ended up being pretty special.

Inspired
This is Connor and his grandmother Jean. Connor's Aunt Rebekah was the one who contacted me about taking some pictures of her nephew and her mother. I had never shot a one-on-one session with a grandparent and grandchild before, so I was pretty excited about something a bit different. I have done lots of sessions with extended family, but often times those turn into making sure we have pictures of all the different 'groups' of people. Don't get me wrong, those are wonderful to have, but this session was all about the love between a grandchild and his grandmother and it was so beautiful to be there to see their connection with each other. Jean would call Connor 'her baby' and Connor would respond calling Jean 'his baby!' It was incredibly sweet. Like many other boys his age, Connor loves superheros. He brought a bit of his Iron man gear and got suited up for some shots. I left this session completely inspired and touched. So much so that I called my mom when I got in the car and told her how I needed to make sure I took some images of her with my kids.

Cuties
It's so fun when I have photographed a family in the past, the family grows, and then I get to photograph them again. This is the White family and the last time I photographed their family, little Evan had just turned one. Now Evan is not so little anymore and he is a big brother to little Miss Julia. She had just celebrated her first birthday prior to our shoot, so it was the perfect time to get some updated family pictures with all four of them. What cuties these two are! Evan was full of smiles, laughter, and silliness. Julia was as sweet as can be and had some of the cutest and funniest expressions. She also has some of the most beautiful, bright blue eyes I've ever seen.

First baby
I really do love photographing couples who are expecting their first baby. There's so much anticipation and excitement leading up to the birth, and it's so fun to capture that time before life changes forever. This is Caleb and Margaret and they are expecting their first baby in August. They knew that they wanted to photograph their session downtown, and I was excited to do it. Prior to their session I headed downtown to find some fun spots to shoot, but once we got started, we didn't go anywhere I had planned. For whatever reason we skewed from my mental path, I'm so glad we did because I love the little nooks we found. We ended things with an iced coffee, frozen lemonade, and a comfy spot to rest in the shade. Caleb and Margaret, thank you for being so wonderful and laid back during our shoot, and I can't wait to meet Baby Frazier. It won't be much longer!

Pure joy
I hope everyone is ready for some seriously sweet and fun images. This is the Belote family. I met parents Brad and Missy through my son's soccer league and had thought to myself on several occasions how much I would love to photograph their beautiful family. When Missy mentioned wanting to schedule a shoot, I was SO excited. Unfortunately, they day we were scheduled to get together, there was a huge storm brewing and we ended up having to reschedule. I was bummed because I had been looking forward to their shoot for so long, but I don't think anything could have topped the day we ended up shooting. Zeke, Quilla, and Zeb got out of the car and had the biggest smiles on their faces. As soon as we started shooting there was nothing but laughs and giggles the whole time. It was such a treat to watch this family love each other and play together. I loved being silly with these kiddos, and I literally made 3 new little friends by the end of it all.
