Lucas

I was going to post this little sneak peek tomorrow, but I figured what better day to post a newborn session than on Mother's Day! This is Baby Lucas and his parents Leon and Erika. When I arrived at their house for the session and first saw Lucas, I was taken with his beautiful complexion and gorgeous hair. I had a really hard time putting a hat on him with that beautiful head full of hair. Lucas is so, so sweet and couldn't have been better for his first photo session. He slept the entire time and let me do everything I was planning for his individual images. Lucas is also lucky to have 4 fur brothers and sisters. Brother Tuxedo was Lucas's protector while he was in utero, and it was really sweet to see how he is still taking on that role now that Lucas has arrived. Leon and Erika, Lucas is simply perfect and thank you for trusting me to capture him during his first days at home. This was my best attempt to pick some images for your sneak peek, which wasn't an easy task! :)

Maeve Kathleen

Sweet baby GIRL McGlone has arrived! I am so excited to introduce everyone to beautiful Maeve Kathleen. With 3 older brothers, I wanted to make sure that we did this little beauty justice with some delicate, feminine touches in her images. That combined with the fact that Maeve is seriously just a pretty baby girl made for some really sweet images. For those that may not know older brothers Quinn, Brogan, and Declan, they love anything and everything superhero. Annie mentioned wanting to incorporate that into a special sibling shot, and I just love how it turned out. There is no doubt that this little girl will be well protected and taken care of, and I really do look forward to watching the dynamic between all these siblings....now that the McGlone family is complete! :)

Sophia

You may recognize the Preston family from my blog, because not too long ago, I was posting little Anna's newborn pictures! Now I'm excited to introduce the newest addition to the Preston family, baby Sophia! Mom Holly contacted me back in the fall and told me the exciting news that she was expecting baby #3 and it was going to be another girl! With Sophia due on Christmas, we coordinated our holiday schedules and set aside some time to make sure we documented her early on. I had not seen brother John and sister Anna since I took Anna's newborn pictures, and I couldn't believe how much they had grown. When I saw Sophia, she was just as precious as I expected. I always love watching the interaction between siblings, and John and Anna gave their new baby sister some of the sweetest little hugs, kisses, and looks of amazement. Before long, Sophia fell fast asleep and let me work with her for some really sweet individual shots. Richard and Holly, thank you for sharing your new baby girl with me in her first days at home and over the holidays. She is as sweet as she can be, and your family is just beautiful!

Gavin

A lot of times when I am contacted for a newborn session, it is many months in advance. I will touch base with the parents-to-be, and then all that's left to do is wait for the baby to arrive. It allows for much anticipation and excitement about the shoot! I was contacted back in the summer for a gift certificate for the Krieger family for their new baby boy who was due to arrive in October. When the day finally arrived, I was so excited to meet this little boy! I got to meet parents Kaitlyn and Greg before the baby's arrival to chat a bit, and Kaitlyn mentioned that she had a few props that she wanted to incorporate into her session. Greg played football in college and using his football helmet was top priority. Kaitlyn also knits, and she had a sweet little pumpkin hat that she made. It was perfect for their little 'pumpkin baby'! Gavin was just the sweetest little boy, and he had such beautiful skin and the best head full of dark hair. He literally slept for the entire time I was working with him and didn't make a peep, not one single peep! He was an absolute dream to photograph. Kaitlyn and Greg are originally from New Jersey, and they had family in town to meet Gavin. There was such a sense of the importance of family between them all, and Gavin is one lucky little boy to be surrounded by so much excitement and love!

Ava

I've got such a treat for the blog today. This is Marinda, Grady, and their new little baby girl Ava. Marinda used to work with my husband and it had been years since I had seen her. I was so excited to hear that she was expecting a baby girl and that she thought of me for a newborn session. She knew that she wanted to utilize the outdoors as much as possible, so we decided to shoot the entire session outside! I have shot many newborn images outside, but I think this was the first time I attempted to shoot the entire session outdoors. Luckily, it was the perfect time of year so it was nice and toasty outside. We also had the perfect location, Marinda's parent's house, which was absolutely stunning. There were so many beautiful flowers and special little spots to shoot, and we ended things in a beautiful field as the sun was setting. I am so excited about the images we came away with. Marinda and Grady, congratulations on your new little girl. You all are such a sweet little family of three!
