superheros!!

you may recognize the mcglone family from my blog. they have been wonderful friends and an amazing family to work with since the beginning. for those of you who know them, this family has had quite a year this past year. the last time i took their photos, it was october of 2010. dad kevin had just received news that he had cancer. they were literally starting their battle against it the day after their session with me. it was such an emotional time for them and an emotional session for me because i knew i wanted to capture them exactly as they were before their difficult journey began. almost exactly a year later, this is the mcglone family....happy and healthy!! i initially labeled this post 'superheros' because these boys, quinn and brogan, love to play superheros. the first image is them doing their superhero pose. honestly, i think this is a family of superheros... kevin for fighting cancer like a superhero, annie for being a superhero wife and mom through it all, and the boys for just being them! kevin and annie, you have truly been an inspiration to me and i know to many others, and i hope you love your sneak peek!! :)

10 years later

this was a session that had been in the works for quite some time. mom vanessa, who also is a friend of mine from architecture school, wanted to head back to where her and her husband david got married. today, 10 years later, this sweet couple has two beautiful girls and what fun to take them back to where it all started. unfortunately, our first attempt for pictures resulted in a storm that literally was so isolated, it was only raining in the town of smithville. luckily we worked it out to 'take two' the next day and everything was a go. addison and brennan were completely cute in their dresses that were specially made for them. vanessa also brought along her wedding dress and some flowers to set the mood for a little wedding day reminiscing. poor brennan had a temperature earlier in the day and wasn't feeling her best, but with a little work, we were able to catch some really sweet moments. i also knew that getting some images of vanessa and david 10 years later was a must, and im so glad we did. here's just a few and i'm looking forward to you seeing the rest! love you all! :)

family, part two

this is my brother and his family. they were with us on vacation in florida as well, and so it was the perfect time for some family photos. this was the first time i had taken pictures of my newest niece, and she is quite the cutie. her big brother has grown up so much since his last photos, and i was glad to be able to do some updated photos with all four of them together. they are also in the process of moving from florida to nashville, so we are all excited to have them a bit closer.

family, part one

it's almost a bit hard for me to go through these images because it is amazing to me how much my niece has grown up. she's no longer a little girl and i think she is absolutely beautiful. we took these back at the beginning of the summer when we were in florida on vacation. we scoped out a park that was down the road from where we were, and it was fun to shoot in a different spot. she worked the camera like a pro and i love what we got!

1 year old cutie pie!!

i love this age and i loved my session with this family. this mommie talked to me quite awhile ago for a session and we finally got something down on my calendar for this little guy's first birthday. after a bit of rescheduling due to sickness and then weather, we jumped at a beautiful day to squeeze in our session. we roamed around the grounds finding little spots here and there for the perfect shots. this sweet boy wasn't too sure about the grass yet, so mom and dad just held on tight until we found the perfect little spot to set him down. we sang songs, played peek-a-boo, and the smiles just kept on coming.

musical girls

this sweet family was one that i photographed when my business was first getting on its feet. i couldn't have been more excited to hear from this mama again and be able to take some more images for them. she knew she loved the covered bridge that she had seen on my website, so we made our way over to that location and got started. both of these girls are in the orchestra and they brought along their instruments for some shots. it was such fun listening to these girls play and i loved watching them enjoying something that is special to them. there is so much love in this family and it really comes across in these images. i hope you love your sneak peek as much as i do, and i can't wait for you to see the rest!!
