Pure joy

I hope everyone is ready for some seriously sweet and fun images. This is the Belote family. I met parents Brad and Missy through my son's soccer league and had thought to myself on several occasions how much I would love to photograph their beautiful family. When Missy mentioned wanting to schedule a shoot, I was SO excited. Unfortunately, they day we were scheduled to get together, there was a huge storm brewing and we ended up having to reschedule. I was bummed because I had been looking forward to their shoot for so long, but I don't think anything could have topped the day we ended up shooting. Zeke, Quilla, and Zeb got out of the car and had the biggest smiles on their faces. As soon as we started shooting there was nothing but laughs and giggles the whole time. It was such a treat to watch this family love each other and play together. I loved being silly with these kiddos, and I literally made 3 new little friends by the end of it all.

Roaming the streets

I love getting to meet new families. This is the Berrigan family. Mom Robyn contacted me some time ago about scheduling a session after she had seen some of my work that I did for a friend of hers. We decided May was the perfect time for their shoot and downtown Kingsport would be a great spot since they had never been photographed there before. I met Tim, Robyn, and kiddos Jackson, Libby, and Graeme on a beautiful evening and I couldn't wait to start roaming the streets of downtown. Robyn did a great job coordinating everyone's outfits, and I love the laid back feel of these images.

Abigail is 1!

It's hard to believe that I could possibly be posting Miss Abigail's 1 year session, but the time is here! I have loved watching her grow, and seeing her toddle around for the last of her first-year sessions was so fun. We decided to make it a family affair as well, and it was lovely to see the entire Nixon/Adams clan. Everyone showed up looking wonderful and so well coordinated, and I loved their color palette. Abigail looked like an angel in her white dress, and Everett couldn't have been more dapper with his little hat and bow-tie. We had such a beautiful spot to shoot, and I really loved spending my evening with this group. Sarah and Greg, thank you for allowing me to opportunity to document Abigail's first year. It has been such a treat!

Lucas

I was going to post this little sneak peek tomorrow, but I figured what better day to post a newborn session than on Mother's Day! This is Baby Lucas and his parents Leon and Erika. When I arrived at their house for the session and first saw Lucas, I was taken with his beautiful complexion and gorgeous hair. I had a really hard time putting a hat on him with that beautiful head full of hair. Lucas is so, so sweet and couldn't have been better for his first photo session. He slept the entire time and let me do everything I was planning for his individual images. Lucas is also lucky to have 4 fur brothers and sisters. Brother Tuxedo was Lucas's protector while he was in utero, and it was really sweet to see how he is still taking on that role now that Lucas has arrived. Leon and Erika, Lucas is simply perfect and thank you for trusting me to capture him during his first days at home. This was my best attempt to pick some images for your sneak peek, which wasn't an easy task! :)

girls...watch out!

I am so happy for the opportunity to photograph the Pulitzer family. Mom Cindy had wanted to schedule a family session last fall, and I unfortunately wasn't able to do it because my schedule was packed full. I can't tell you how hard it is for me to have to say no. Luckily, she wasn't too set on a timeline, so we decided to do something in the spring. I am so glad we waited, and I am so thankful to work with so many wonderful families. Spring also happens to be my favorite time of year for pictures, and I just love the color in these images! I see Sam and Cindy every week during soccer season because our boys play soccer together. Avery is on the same team as my son Emery, but I hadn't met the other two Pulitzer boys. Girls better watch out for these three! Brice, Avery, and Vaughn are some seriously cute boys, and they are hilarious. I was thoroughly entertained listening to some of the things they said! We had such a beautiful evening, and that mixed with some love and silliness, we came away with some images that I just love, even the bunny ears shot for the boys! :)
