little miss hannah

it seems like i have been photographing mostly newborn boys lately and then i had two little girls in one week! this is miss hannah isabella and what a little beauty she is. we decided shooting at my house was the best option, so proud parents clara and ryan brought over their sweet little girl and we were ready to get started. for those who know me, i am a planner. this personality trait definitely carries over into my newborn sessions. i have my blankets, headbands, hats, props, etc. all picked out prior so i'm all ready to go. well....miss hannah had a different plan in her head than mine! clara kept her belly nice and full, we had the heat cranked, we rocked, we sshhhed, and we soothed our hearts out. at the end of the day, she really was the happiest in her parents arms. so, i had a little 'make it work' moment and that's just what we did! we focused on what made hannah the happiest and i'm so happy with the results. clara and ryan, thank you so much for your patience and willingness during your session and here's just a few of what we captured.

a very special little girl

i am so excited to introduce everyone to a very sweet and special family. mom jennifer contacted me to see if i would be available to take some newborn photos of the new baby girl that her and her husband josh had just adopted. i was so excited for them and couldn't wait to meet miss madelyn. we waited until everything was official and got something on the calendar. we've been having some amazingly warm weather for this time of year and after some shots inside, we were able to head outdoors and take advantage of the warmth and their beautiful backyard. madelyn was such a petite, precious little thing and i loved being able to use some of my girlie props along with a diaper cover that jennifer wore when she was a baby. jennifer and josh, congratulations on your adoption and madelyn is one special girl who i know has brought so much joy to your lives!

baby louden

im am so excited to introduce everyone to sweet baby louden! you may have seen the maternity post a few sessions back with parents nora and matt. i had so much fun shooting that session, and i love being able to follow that up with some sweet newborn images of their little boy. this session was a bit different because we actually shot this at my house. luckily, nora was up for it and we ended up using my empty spare bedroom and my kitchen table! louden did so good for his first photo session. he was actually a bit over 2 weeks old (which is older than recommended) but with the christmas holiday and several rainy days, it's just the way things played out. but all my worries were for nothing. i just cranked up the heat and nora kept his belly full, both of which did the trick. he was so, so good and by the time i was putting him in my baskets, he was completely passed out and nothing was waking him up!! nora and matt, you have the most beautiful little boy and i can't wait for you to see the rest of his images!

beautiful bride

from time to time i get the opportunity to shoot an engagement or a bridal session. since i don't shoot weddings, it doesn't happen all the time, but i sure do love it when i get the opportunity! this beautiful bride is ginger. we actually went to high school together and she is also now the sister-in-law to one of my clients. luckily all the stars aligned perfectly and i was able to do some bridal images for her. we planned on shooting these at banq downtown the week before christmas and after so many reschedules (i honestly lost count!) due to rainy weather, we finally were able to fit in the session the week after christmas. ginger looked beautiful in her dress and i could just see the excitement in her eyes. she was also up for anything i suggested, and that always makes things fun! ginger, i am so happy for you and chad and thank you so much for allowing me to document such a special time in your life.

absolute beauties

you may recognize sweet little maheka and her family from their session back in 2009, but oh my how things have changed. when mom supria called me to schedule their session, i just couldn't wait to see them again and was so happy at the opportunity to take some more images for their family. i met supria and mohit and their precious little girls on a gorgeous day and couldn't wait to get started. maheka is so grown up now and she is also a big sister to adorable little mahera. maheka was so full of life and i loved hearing all the funny things that she had to say. mahera was sitting up so well and loved grabbing (and sometimes eating!) the grass. the two of them together was such a site with their beautiful brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes....they are absolute beauties! watching this family interact was such a treat, and picking images to post seemed almost impossible. but here's just a few!

roll tide :)

i really, really enjoy seeing kids grow up! it makes me sad sometimes at how quickly they get big, but seeing the change is so fun and one reason i love doing what i do. this is the pannell family. you may recognize them from previous posts, and i was thrilled when mom missy heard through the grapevine that i was back on my own. i hadn't seen sweet landon for over a year and i knew i was in for a surprise. as soon as i saw him he just looked like a big boy, but still had the same sweet face and beautiful eyes! missy and michael brought along a football for some sport shots and we just played around and went for a little hike!! it was so fun watching landon just be himself and he had quite the sense of humor. he loved saying 'roll tide' to his parents who happen to be huge tennessee fans. it was pretty funny! missy and michael, i really loved seeing you all again and seeing your sweet landon. here's just a few for now.

future quarterback??!!! looks pretty good to me!
