Baby Mac

I've been dying to post some of these images since the morning I took them. When I got home and starting going through them, I couldn't resist posting just one. Today, I'm glad to be following up with the rest for a proper sneak peek. This sweet little guy is McConnell Charles...otherwise know as Mac. I think it is the best name, and it seems to suit him just perfectly. This session was given to these new parents as a baby gift (newborn sessions make great baby gifts!), and after hearing the news that baby Mac had arrived, we set up a time for his first photo shoot. I arrived at Ashley and Alan's house and was so excited to see the sweet boy. He was sleeping soundly in his bassinet, and I couldn't wait to start shooting away. Mac was just perfect the entire time. He slept pretty soundly the whole time I was there, and if he was awake, he was so calm and just looked all around taking everything in. He had the sweetest little baby lips, lots of smiles, and I loved his head full of hair. These two parents were also some of the sweetest, most laid back, first time parents I have ever met. They let me do whatever I wanted, and I think they even got a few things done while I spent time with Mac! Ashley and Alan, thank you so much for the opportunity to capture little Mac's first few days. He is just as sweet as can be. 2269 2367 2376 2473 3014 2840 3171 3256 3205 3425

a few new faces

I love meeting new families! I never know quite what to expect (especially since I tend to correspond primarily through email), but I'm like an excited little kid when I'm on my way to meet a new family for the first time. I also love introducing a new family on my blog. So...here we go. Meet the Tomlinsons. I headed to this family's home for their session, and as soon as mom Leslie opened the door, I knew it was going to be great. She had on the cutest navy dress paired with some fun yellow jewelry and was super warm and welcoming. Then I met Ben, Norah, and dad Scott. Everyone was dressed just perfectly, and Ben and Norah couldn't have been any cuter. Ben turned 6 just a few days after our session and has the sweetest little smile. Norah will be 3 in June and I could just eat her up...such a pretty little girl with the cutest little curls. Im not sure these two knew quite was to expect intially, but before long, I think they knew I was there to have a little fun. We spent our time wandering around their beautiful property that made for the perfect backdrop for some family pictures. We ran, played, tickled, and laughed the entire time. I also got the most beautiful bouquet of yellow flowers to take home with me thanks to these sweet kids. Scott and Leslie, thank you so much for allowing me to spend some time with your family and for being so wonderful to work with. Here's just a taste of what we came up with. 1861 1084 1666 0874 1298 1730 1720 1776 1596 1946

Jaelan

When mom Laura contacted me to do some senior pictures for Jaelan, I was really excited to get to see part of this family again. It had been a bit, we were thinking 3-4 years, since the last time I saw Jaelan. The first thing I thought when I saw him was how grown up he looked, but I guess getting ready to graduate and head to college is grown up! Jaelan is on the track team and his mom threw out the idea of incorporating that into the session. I was definitely on board with it. Anytime I can capture a senior in their element, I'm up for it. We met up at Science Hill for the session and I had no idea how nice it was there. We started off with some images around the campus (with a little cap and gown in there for mom!) and ended up at the track. I think I gave Jaelan a good little workout and I love the images we came away with. It's no secret that senior guys don't love having their picture made, but Jaelan couldn't have been a better sport about it all. Laura, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to take these for you and Jaelan, and I can't wait for you to see the rest of these and for your family session this summer!

fun in the mountains

Im so excited to be debuting these sweet kiddos on my blog today.  I have been wishing for an opportunity to photograph Oliver, Margot, and Beatrice for quite some time.  Their mom, Lara, happens to be a very special friend of mine that I have not seen in forever.  Seven or so years since we had seen each other from what we could figure, but regardless, it had been way too long!  The sweet Provencher family lives in Florida, and after too many years gone by, many miles between us, and many children later, we finally decided to make a visit happen.  We were able to spend the week together in Highlands, North Carolina, and of course a photo session was in order.  After seeing pictures of these 3 for years, I knew how gorgeous they were, but I couldn't wait to get to know them a little bit.   Oliver is just so handsome with the most beautiful, long eyelashes.  He can be pretty quiet and reserved at times, but he sure does have a silly side.  Margot has such beautiful, long, dark hair that she so gracefully brushes out of her eyes.  I love the gap in between her teeth and how she loves to have her picture taken.  Beatrice....oh Miss Bea.  I could just eat her up.  She has the most angelic little face but she has so much spunk and fire, and I just adore her!

I have a lot of people ask me what I enjoy photographing the most.  It's a pretty difficult question to answer because I love photographing lots of different subjects, but high on the list is individual shots of children.  I could do it all day.  I love trying to capture the personality of the individual child and just letting them shine in front of the camera.  This was the perfect opportunity to do lots of individual shots and of course we got all three together for some shots.  It proved to be quite entertaining getting this bunch together! :)  Lara....I truly enjoyed our time together and it feels like other than a bit of catching up, we fell right back where we were so many years ago.  Your sweet babies are beyond adorable and here's a few images for you!

Abigail Jean

Ever since I found out Sarah was pregnant, I have looked forward to taking some newborn images for the Adams family.  When I found out it was a girl, I was so happy for them and the excitement continued to grow.  I loved doing some maternity images about a month before their little girl's debut in the freezing cold and snow!! :)  So...to say there was much anticipation for her arrival is putting it mildly.  I couldn't wait to meet the little princess.  So without further ado, here is little Miss Abigail Jean.  Sarah's mom's name is Gail and Greg's mom's name is Jean and I love how they incorporated both of their names....a very special name for a special little girl.  Abigail is just perfect.  She was such an angel the whole time I was there and hardly made a peep.  Older brother Everett was so excited for me to take his picture with his little sister, and I love with the images we got of the two of them together.  He kept giving her the longest, sweetest kisses and the way he looks at her is just priceless.  Sarah and Greg, I couldn't resist putting a sneak peek up as soon as possible.   I feel so honored to have been able to capture Miss Abigail's first days in this world and your family is just precious!
