walking

it was so good to see this family again and even better to see how much this little man had changed. last time we saw each other it was super chilly in december and this time we had gorgeous, warm weather and guess who was walking??!! so fun to see him take off with a few wobbles here and there. the sun was just streaming through the trees and it couldn't have been a better evening to see what this birthday boy was up to. he was so happy and full of smiles and i just melted at the end when he wanted me to hold him...such a great moment for me!

loves the outdoors

i feel like i've been photographing so many newborns lately...and i love it! i love going to a family's home who has just been blessed with a brand new little baby. there are so many emotions from excitement to worry to just plain exhaustion, and i love being able to be a part of it. this little guy was just wonderful! he had such a sweet little face, beautiful baby skin, and after his belly was full, he just slept and slept. he also seemed to love the outdoors which could be part of his little personality already coming out....fun to think about! such a lucky little guy with parents and a big brother who love him so!

one of the many things i love about my photo sessions are the personalities of all the kiddos i get to meet. when we first started this session, i could just see these boys trying to figure me out. then i think they realized that they could have some fun and the personalities came out. i loved watching these boys be boys and more importantly being brothers.

a wife and her Marine

i was contacted by this couple last year, and i have been looking forward to their session ever since. at the time, her husband was deployed and scheduled to be back from iraq in the spring. we got something down on the calendar, and i was so happy when this session finally rolled around. we knew he was going to be in his dress blues for some of the shots, and i thought it would be fun to head downtown for the session. such a fun couple to be around! they weren't shy in front of the camera at all, and all i had to do was tell them to love each other, and they brought the rest.

5 days old

i love watching families grow! it's so much fun to see all the changes, but there's nothing better than meeting a new little brother or sister. this baby girl joined this already adorable family, making for an even sweeter family of four. she was just 5 days old for her first photo session and she was just wonderful! she had such beautiful baby skin and had the cutest little baby lips! i was also IN LOVE with her nursery. such a sweet space with an awesome wall mural and just perfect for a new baby girl.
