grandkids!

this was a session that had been in the works for quite some time. after being snowed out twice late last year, we decided to wait for some warmer weather. i'm so glad we did. these are all the grandkids of these lucky grandparents, and what fun to see them all together. i won't lie, it was a bit crazy at times, but it was fun for me to see all the kids playing together and to be able to see how proud these grandparents are was super sweet. who could blame them with such a great group of kiddos.

for you, freds

this is one of my very best friends and her little boy. she was in town from colorado and i was so happy to have her come stay with us for a few days. we went to architecture school together and i've loved being a part of each others lives as we've grown up, gotten married, and now become mommies! her little boy couldn't be any cuter and i just love his big brown eyes and long eyelashes...beautiful!! with another baby on the way, it was the perfect time to capture some fun moments before their life changes completely!

tornadoes!

when i met this family earlier in the year we did their session inside because it was still super cold out. this time we headed outdoors and it was beautiful. these kiddos were so sweet in their outfits and i loved catching a glimpse of their personalities while they were outside and able to roam around. then all of a sudden it clouded up and the wind was blowing so hard i thought it was going to knock us over. we tried to work through it, but with all the thunder and lightening in the background we decided to head back to the cars. even though we got cut a bit short we still managed to get some great stuff....and the tornadoes hit on the drive home!!

friend

this session was a surprise for me. this is a good friend of mine who i went to high school with and then was part of the 'crew' when i lived in nashville. he is an amazing photographer and i had been wanting him to take some photos of my family. i was super honored (and a bit nervous!) when he asked me to take some of his family as well. we headed to some spots in downtown nashville and it was a lot of fun shooting together. you can check out his work here. www.richkphotoblog.com

sweet emotion

i love engagement sessions. they are completely different from chasing a moving target. (not that i don't love chasing the kiddos!) there's also such a sweet emotion there and it's so easy to see with a couple who's going to be married. i truly love being able to be there to witness it and capture it. this is a super cute couple who was recently engaged and getting married next month. i was so happy to be asked to take these for them and even more excited to see what we came up with. here's just a few!!
