an absolute treat

oh how i love the sweet adams family! i was so happy to run into sweet mom sarah and absolutely could not believe how much her little everett had grown. i literally felt like my jaw dropped to the floor when i saw him...see the before and after below!! he definitely has turned into a big boy, so i couldn't have been more excited at the opportunity to take some more images for this family. after having to reschedule twice for rain, we finally had a beautiful afternoon for some pictures. as soon as i saw everett, i couldn't wait to get started. he has the most beautiful curly blonde hair and his eyes are simply amazing. despite everett being as cute as can be and having such a fun little personality, this family loves and plays together so well it makes taking their pictures an absolute treat. sarah and greg, thank you for being so wonderful and i can't wait for you to see everything we captured.

my dear friend

this is my dear friend jackie and her family. we met when i still lived in nashville, and i just love having her in my life. she has been so supportive of me and my business since the beginning, and i always love the opportunity to take images for her. this time was no exception, and i was really excited when she told me that her family was going to come to kingsport for their session. we talked about several ideas and decided on one of my favorite farms for our location. it was just the perfect spot, especially for these boys. wade and gavin loved the barns, hay, looking for cows, and they were just dying to see a farmer. unfortunately we didn't find 'farmer phil', but it didn't keep us from having a good time and capturing some really sweet images along the way. jackie and greg, thank you so much for making the trip here for your session, and here's a little something to look at!

superheros!!

you may recognize the mcglone family from my blog. they have been wonderful friends and an amazing family to work with since the beginning. for those of you who know them, this family has had quite a year this past year. the last time i took their photos, it was october of 2010. dad kevin had just received news that he had cancer. they were literally starting their battle against it the day after their session with me. it was such an emotional time for them and an emotional session for me because i knew i wanted to capture them exactly as they were before their difficult journey began. almost exactly a year later, this is the mcglone family....happy and healthy!! i initially labeled this post 'superheros' because these boys, quinn and brogan, love to play superheros. the first image is them doing their superhero pose. honestly, i think this is a family of superheros... kevin for fighting cancer like a superhero, annie for being a superhero wife and mom through it all, and the boys for just being them! kevin and annie, you have truly been an inspiration to me and i know to many others, and i hope you love your sneak peek!! :)
