absolute beauties

you may recognize sweet little maheka and her family from their session back in 2009, but oh my how things have changed. when mom supria called me to schedule their session, i just couldn't wait to see them again and was so happy at the opportunity to take some more images for their family. i met supria and mohit and their precious little girls on a gorgeous day and couldn't wait to get started. maheka is so grown up now and she is also a big sister to adorable little mahera. maheka was so full of life and i loved hearing all the funny things that she had to say. mahera was sitting up so well and loved grabbing (and sometimes eating!) the grass. the two of them together was such a site with their beautiful brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes....they are absolute beauties! watching this family interact was such a treat, and picking images to post seemed almost impossible. but here's just a few!

roll tide :)

i really, really enjoy seeing kids grow up! it makes me sad sometimes at how quickly they get big, but seeing the change is so fun and one reason i love doing what i do. this is the pannell family. you may recognize them from previous posts, and i was thrilled when mom missy heard through the grapevine that i was back on my own. i hadn't seen sweet landon for over a year and i knew i was in for a surprise. as soon as i saw him he just looked like a big boy, but still had the same sweet face and beautiful eyes! missy and michael brought along a football for some sport shots and we just played around and went for a little hike!! it was so fun watching landon just be himself and he had quite the sense of humor. he loved saying 'roll tide' to his parents who happen to be huge tennessee fans. it was pretty funny! missy and michael, i really loved seeing you all again and seeing your sweet landon. here's just a few for now.

future quarterback??!!! looks pretty good to me!

baby on the way

i am so excited to be posting a maternity session on my blog today. soon to be mom nora contacted me wanting some pictures to document her pregnancy and i was immediately excited. due in december, i knew we needed to get something on the schedule quick and luckily we were able to work something out during this crazy, busy time of year. nora knew she wanted some belly shots, and although im saving most of those for later, i couldn't resist showing at least one. they were both so willing to do anything and everything i asked and i really love everything we came away with. nora and matt...thank you so much for the opportunity to capture this time in your lives, and i can't wait for you to see all your images!

i LOVE this! :)

felt at home

sometimes when i meet a family everything is just easy. this was definitely one of those sessions for me. mom dana originally contacted me for a session quite some time ago, and i was so, so happy to finally meet her and her awesome daughter, amanda. we decided to meet at their house, which was in the neighborhood i grew up in, so i immediately felt at home. all the trees and color were beautiful and we just wandered around their street finding little spots here and there. dana and amanda couldn't have been any nicer and once we started talking we didn't really stop the whole time. i heard all kinds of great stories, and just loved seeing the two of them together. i really had a great time. i am definitely looking forward to the family part of this session in the spring when dad can join us!

one week old

i am so excited to introduce sweet, sweet nicholas, the newest member of the pond family. i was thrilled to have the opportunity to take his first images and i couldn't wait to meet him. once i heard the word from brooks and david that nicholas was here, we planned his session right at one week old and everything just fell into place. it was an absolutely gorgeous, sunny day for an in-home newborn session and after scoping out which rooms had the best light, i was ready to get started. as soon as i saw nicholas, i couldn't believe how much he looked like his older brother daniel. i loved seeing the dynamic between the two boys and after spending some fun family time together, nicholas dozed off. he literally snoozed the whole time with only one little break and couldn't have been easier to work with. brooks and david, i am so happy with the images we captured and it was wonderful to see how much joy nicholas has brought into all of your lives.

a very special family!!

i am so excited for this post...meet the past family! this is my husband's sister kathy, her husband chris, and their awesome kids coleman, cameron, and kylie. i can't tell you how important they are to us and i was really honored when they asked me to take some pictures for them. they made the trip from louisville to spend the weekend with us and we planned to fit in the session while they were here. we headed out to one of my spots on what we designated 'picture day' and we had the most amazing weather for the session...despite a little wind. :) i have always said that i thought they would do awesome for photos because this family truly loves spending time together and it shows. not only are they our family, they are the godparents to my son, and honestly have just become really great friends of ours. kathy and chris, thank you so much for asking me to capture your family. i hope you like your sneak peek and i will be excited for you to see the rest!
