a beautiful redhead

i'm so excited to post this 'senior that's not really a senior' shoot! nikki contacted me towards the end of 2011 for a session and even though she had already graduated in the spring, she never had senior pictures taken. we talked about her vision for the shoot and decided to wait until the spring for warmer weather and when everything was in bloom. as soon as i saw her i knew waiting until the spring was the right choice. nikki is absolutely gorgeous and has the most beautiful red hair that photographed amazingly with all the green surroundings. i had a hard time putting my camera down and knew going through these images wouldn't be easy. they are just gorgeous and deciding between black and white, color, smile, or serious face is seriously hard!! nikki, thank you so much for choosing me to capture you! 8514 8637 9276 9110 9092 9026 9328 0768 9470 9544

little troopers

every now and again i will have a session that seems to have everything going against it, whether its reschedules due to weather or sickness. it just happens from time to time. well, this seemed like one of those sessions. mom shannon had contacted me wanting some pictures of her boys. the last time i photographed the hyatt boys, there were just two of them, sam and teddy. this family has grown and now there are three hyatt boys! i couldn't wait to meet the newest addition john and see how everyone had changed. then came a bit of craziness. i honestly lost count of the number of times we changed the date, but i know we had lots of rain, super strong wind, and then poor little john came down with the chicken pox. i was worried shannon might want to just give up, but we finally had a great evening for pictures and we were all ready to go. we had talked about taking these somewhere 'grassy' and i thought the farm would be perfect because there is lots of room for three boys to run and play. once we got there the grass was SOOO long....taller than even little john! we trekked through the all the grass trying to make our way to some spots where it wasn't so crazy. oldest brother sam was my little entertainer for his brothers. teddy had fallen asleep in the car and with a little help from sam we gots some laughs. john had the most beautiful curls and was just starting to walk. although it was a bit crazy, with even me sneezing like crazy by the end, we made it happen and came away with some really sweet images. big thanks so these little troopers and one really patient mom. shannon....thanks for hanging in there and i promise it was all worth it! 7817 7970 7953 7886 8174 8255 7808 8333 8437 8161

a true free spirit

when mom michelle contacted me for some senior pictures of her daughter, she told me that she was very free spirited and i was immediately excited. we discussed a couple of ideas for different types of locations, and senior aileen wanted to do something a bit rustic but with a little 'green' as well. once i saw her outfits, i thought the idea of location was going to be just perfect to suit her personality. she was beautiful, sweet, confident, and definitely had her own sense of style which is always fun for me to try to capture. we had a gorgeous day to work with and i loved getting to spend time with her as we scoped out little areas here and there to shoot. we found a perfect, broken down shed for some shots of aileen in her all-time favorite sweater from a thrift store and the field with yellow flowers seemed pretty perfect for her tie dye shirt. aileen, thank you so much for being you at your session, and i can't wait for you to see the rest of your images. 7517 9786 0019 9832 0077 7647 0300 0270_bw 0393 0507
