baby, it's cold outside!

The winter months are so unpredictable.  The morning of this maternity session we had decided to reschedule based on the cloudy weather. It was also cold....I mean 36 degrees cold!! But low and behold it started to clear up. Sarah and Greg, being some of the most laid back, easygoing people/parents ever, were game so we decided to go for it. They are in the process of building a house, and I thought it would be fun to head over to the site for their session. Their house also has a big open field next door which was perfect. Everyone looked great and Sarah was just glowing with her beautiful baby belly!  She also brought the cutest creme hat and teal scarf that looked so good with her red sweater.  By the time we were ready to start shooting, it had clouded up again and I started to question my decision to try to squeeze in the shoot. Luckily, the sun came out for just for a bit, and we took full advantage. As we were heading back to the house for just a few more shots of Sarah, it started to snow! The snow was just blowing in the window and it was this really magical moment that I'm so glad we captured.

This session embodies exactly where I was in my life last summer, and being able to capture the excitement of this time for this family was extra special to me. All the emotions were so fresh in my mind from the overall excitement to the physical difficulties of those last few months of pregnancy. Seeing big brother Everett be excited in his own way, but not quite sure what it all means quite yet really hit home with me because of how much my family has changed with the birth of my daughter and how much life will change for them as well once their little girl arrives. Sarah and Greg, I can't thank you enough for being willing to shoot on such a chilly day and I am just thrilled for your family and can't wait to meet your new baby girl in just a few short weeks!
